Port/ Portuguese wine tasting in San Francisco April 16th.

Post by Andy Velebil »

It's time for the annual ViniPortugal event. I've been to this one before (check the article archives for the article I wrote on it) and it's a great event. There is more Port and wine than you could ever hope to try in one day. This is worth going to if you can make it.

Here’s How to Taste Your Way Through Portugal...
On a Thursday!

ViniPortugal/Wines of Portugal invites you to their 3rd Annual Wine Tasting in San Francisco on Thursday April 16th, 2009. It’s a unique tasting because you can truly discover the diversity of Portugal, tasting over 250 quality wines from all of Portugal's main wine regions.
Light appetizers will also be served, so don’t worry about getting hungry after a hard day of work and a few glasses of Vinho Verde.
Not only will you get to taste a fabulous array of wines, you will also be doing your part to support WomenHeart, the only national organization dedicated to promoting women’s heart health through advocacy, education, and patient support. 100% of all proceeds from ticket sales will go to WomenHeart to improve the health and quality of life of women living with or at risk of heart disease.
Tickets are only $35 if purchased at least two days event date; $50 if purchased at the door. 250 wines, $35, you do the math—it’s better than any happy hour in town. And all for an important cause. You can RSVP here.
Thursday, April 16th, 2009
Westin St. Francis, 335 Powell St., San Francisco
Consumer Tasting: 5:30pm–8pm
RSVP early—advance tickets cost less ($35 instead of $50), and this event will sell out.

Is this the same event that is in NYC, Chicago, & Denver too? Does anyone have dates to this tour? I can't seem to find anything on line. Thanks in advance.

Should be, they usually do several stops across the country. I'm out of town, so when I get home I'll check on and get back to you.
