Dice roll - anyone want to share a case of 1963 Taylor?
There is a case of 1963 Taylor in the current AMC Internet auction closing Sunday. No bids yet. Minimum bid $2,000. With Buyer's premium, that's $200 per bottle plus tax, and I may be able to avoid the tax by picking the case up at their warehouse in New Jersey. Anyone want a piece of the case? Pick up in NY. I don't want 12 bottles, but a few bottles of 1963 Taylor would look nice in my cellar, and even better on the dinner table. Post interest here. I'm asking a few friends who might want bottles as well.
Thanks Roy

I'd be interested in some of this. I think up to 4 bottles would be good.

I'd be interested in two if we can arrange for shipping. (Pick up in NY when you live in Seattle is a bit prohibitive.)

At that price, how do you say no?
I live right near Glenn and I'd probably take a pair as well, but only if your other friends won't be shorted.
Thanks for the offer Jay.

That's kind of what I was thinking. The only question now remaining is whether I have the nerve to pull the trigger.I have to ask my two non-fanatic wine drinking friends "Are you crazy enough to buy a bottle of wine for $200?"Roy Hersh wrote: . . . At that price, how do you say no? . . .

Jay,
Why not just ask Golodetz, he'd probably jump on this!

Just curious--where is website for this AMC auction? Don't worry, I won't be bidding on this Taylor.

AMC's buyer's premium is actually 21% just so that you are aware that's $420 you are paying not $200
Also just in case anyone bids for these auctions that lives in NY or CA you will also be charged tax!

All wine would be port if it could

I did not bid. My doctor had a few choice words for me and I may be out of the market for a while. But no one else bid either and if I get medical clearance next week, amybe we can get it next month.
Thanks Roy
