An interesting "Terratez"

While heading up to the "Feast of the Blessed Sacrament" (aka, the Madeira Festival) in New Bedford, MA, we stopped off to visit a relative in nearby Fall River. She was born in Madeira about 85 years ago and had an interesting empty bottle of Madeira in her living room. It was a 1715 JCA & A Terratez (note the spelling... "Terratez" not "Terrantez").

After doing some research, it appears the producer is Joao Carlos d'Aguiar. Anybody have any details on this producer?

Thanks Marco. I am in CO visiting with my brother Mitch and exploring all kinds of crazy wines but at the end of our evening, after Burg then Port, we finished with a glass of Broadbent 10 year old to get our palates ready for a nice Terrantez too. I opened one from the RWC Historic Series, the New Orleans. Always a pleasure. Terrantez rules!

Looking in Alex Liddell's book, "Madeira", it appears that he has a tasting note for this wine. In fact, it is the oldest vintage wine he notes (along with another 1715 wine). Very rare indeed...
