Seattle-area Port tasting

Post by Roy Hersh »

Would you like to meet Dominic Symington in person? He will be bringing along the 2007 VPs for you to try. Please let me know if you are going to be there! There's some other goodies too:

Monday, October 26th - from 4-6 p.m.

We are doing a tasting at Pete's in Bellevue of the 2007 Vintage Ports for: Graham's, Dow's, Smith Woodhouse, Quinta do Vesuvio and Warre's. In addition we will be pouring an older vintage - Graham's 1991, Dow's 1985, Smith Woodhouse 2003, Quinta do Vesuvio 1994 and Warre's 1980.

Let's see how many FTLOP'ers we can have show up!

Sounds fun for sure. Wish I could make it, but it's one heck of a drive.

Any word on tastings in the rest of the Country?

I won't get back from Paris until late on Tuesday the 27th. :( Otherwise you know I'd be there!

Andy - not yet, but I'll ask.

Glenn - life is so unfair in so many ways. Enjoy Paris!

Were you expecting sympathy on this?

Yeah, yeah... not really. :P Especially since I'll be coming back from Paris with a couple of bottles of 1952 Dalva Golden White in my luggage! :yumyum:

Now I've moved from unsympathetic to consternation.

Hi Roy,

I would have worked a way to be there by bundling it with a visit to a customer I have in Bellevue but I just noticed the event is in on a monday, which means from where I am I would need to travel on Sunday... that is just too hard to sell to my loved ones... when my job already takes plenty of weekends.

I still may have to come west before year end so I'll keep you posted to see if we can finally sync up.

cheers
Paul

Roy,

I just spotted this on Pete's website and it shows the time being from 5:00 - 7:00. I hope to make it by - unfortunately my wife is taking a Monday night class at the UW and doesn't get finished until 9:00.
