First trip to Porto

Post by Markus D. »

Hi all,

I new to the forum and relatively (year or two) new to port. I am planning my first trip to Porto/Douro for the last week of November and was wondering if anyone had any resources for planning a good port trip (it is my sole reason for visiting!). I've tried looking through some Portugal travel books in the library but haven't found anything more then a page or two on the basics. Any help would be appreciated!

Hi Markus,

If you look in the section below, Portugal Travel, Food & Offline Planner, you will find many great posts which talk about places to visit including hotels and restaurants. I think that would be a great way to read and find exactly what you are looking for.

While in Porto, you MUST make sure to go to VinoLogia, which is the best PORT BAR in the world. Very educational and they welcome :ftlop: members if you say hello, they'll take special care of you.

Have a wonderful first trip and enjoy your time and make sure to take at least a day or two to go to the Douro if time permits.
