Recommend a port from 2008 for future gift?

I'm looking to buy a case of port and set it aside for my new niece until she is 18. I don't know much about port but was introduced to this tradition by a friend who's 29yo port we just drank. Any and all suggestions from 2008 would be greatly appreciated. Thanks - Uri

The 2007 Ports have yet to hit the market and the 2008s have not been bottled, therefore ... this is a bit pre-mature. There will be Single Quinta Vintage Ports from 2008 that will be released at the very end of next year. Once bottled, we can give you a better indication.

Uri,

Vintage Port is released in the second year after the harvest so the 2008 vintage ports will not appear on the market until around May 2010. I'm afraid you will have to wait until then before anyone here can advise you on which ports to buy from that vintage as, at this point in time, the final blends have not been produced and therefore no-one has tasted them.
