1 Taylor 10 year tawny
2 Taylor 20 Year tawny
1 Burmeister 10 year tawny
2 Burmeister 20 year tawny

Not that these were on sale or anything (although I do get a good discount at this shop). More that my wife wants to explore them more.

I'm waiting to hear back on others that are available in my area, especially some older ones.

Arrgh! I thought I'd found the 2007 Quinta do Vale Meao for $65/bottle but it turned out to be their red wine and not their Port. [dash1.gif] :(

I'd love to! Some day, perhaps, when the economy is better. [cheers.gif]

I did actually find some in Vancouver, B.C. But the "store" that had them listed was actually an importer, so a) they can't ship to anyone but a store, and b) they don't have an actual store so I can't drive up there and pick it up in person. I already thought of having one of our Canadian members try buying it, but while still on the phone the guy told me that he can't sell directly to an individual anyway.

But at least that means that it will be available somewhere in British Columbia at some point! I just need to find the right store and have them buy it from the importer...

Recently I bought me:

6 bottles of Barao de Vilar 20 Years Old
2 Bottles of Taylor´s 1994
6 bottles of Taylor´s 1992

I guess the Barao de Vilars will be drunk way before the others ....... : [cheers.gif]

Spent a good deal of the year's wine budget already, I need to save a little cash to upgrade our passive basement cellar. I really am trying to focus on just a few small purchases of older stuff, but finding them in decent condition seems pretty hit-or-miss. And they may not last long, anyway -- since life is short, my strategy tends to be "drink the best stuff first." Waiting now for a couple warmer days so I can take delivery. Maybe next week...

1955 Taylor x2
1955 Cockburn x1
1960 Croft x1 (Birth year wine)
1963 Taylor x5
1966 Taylor x4
1966 Warre x3

Realizing I had nary a bottle of LBV on hand, I grabbed a mixed case of 1996, 2000 and 2003 LBVs by Quinta do Crasto.

6 pack, OWC, 2003 Quinta do Vesuvio. A local b&m has had this for a long time at $60 each and I've been tempted, but I managed to buy this at auction for $40 each. I don't know the provenance, but I know the bottles at the local b&m have been in a comfortably warm (for humans, not wine) room on the top shelf for a good while, and that was starting to be a deterrent in addition to the price. (Some, but not all, of my local stores do have climate controlled rooms for many of their wines.)

Sourced mostly from Underwood Wines, with a little help from F+R

Last weekend the former importer of Burmester in the Netherlands had a "Wintersale", which included his last stock of Burmester. So I purchased 18 bottles of VP 1997. A very nice bottle indeed!

A Justerini and Brooks own-label 1977 VP "specially shipped" by Smith Woodhouse - £30.

Bought on impulse - thought it was worth a shout given the price and Smith Woodhouse's reputation as an insider's bargain for this vintage.

Noticed on arrival home that it had a "Gould Campbell" embossed capsule and a bit of work on google took me straight back to FTLOP's very own TNDB and a 2006 review by Philip Harvey confirming that the wine is, indeed, Gould Campbell!

If it is as good as the regular 1977 Gould Campbell, it should be a very nice drinker, and that's a great price. We had 1977 Gould Campbell at the first :ftlop: Gala. I thought it was nice and my wife loved it.
