I didn't verify the listings, but wine-searcher.com showed listings for 1974, 1987, 1991, 1992, 1994, 1995, 1997, 1999, 2000, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007 magnums of Niepoort. Sadly for me, the only thing available in the U.S. is 1997, presumably VP.

He knows... There are a lot of 97 Magnums floating around. I think they had an issue with the corks or bottling line on that vintage. Maybe Fred or Roy can chime in? For the giveaway prices on that vintage I have still been hesitant to buy it.

I have a subscription to wine-searcher, which gives more listings than if you don't. Is that the difference? As an example of what the subscription gives, it located magnums of 1994 Niepoort at http://www.raeburnfinewines.com/

I bought 1992 and 1994 Niepoort Mags on release and embarrassed to even mention the prices I paid back then. Never opened one of my Niepoort mags yet. Will do so in January of 2011.

Roy,

2011? Sorry if this is a silly question: do you normally plan so far in advance when you are going to drink a specific bottle?
