1966 Vintage

I am looking to buy something from the much praised 1966 vintage, a great year - England won the world cup and I was born so 1 out of 2 ain't bad. I would like something that, if possible, will keep for another 7 or so years that I can open if and when I reach 50. What would users recommend?

Your in luck, 1966 had some wonderful stuff that is still drinking very well and will hold another 7 years no problem. Look for Graham's, Warre's, Dow's, Fonseca, Taylor's, Quinta do Noval Nacional (but very expensive), Sandeman (but I've had some bottle variation from very good to sub-par). So you have quite a lot to chose from and hopefully one that is in your price range.

Graham, Fonseca, and Taylor are all superb.

Something else you might do for the fun of it is pick up a 1966 Kopke Colheita. It is one of the better Colheitas usually available at retail right now, and will easily keep until 2016 in bottle. The last bottling that I can recall was in 2006, but there may be later ones as well.
