Original price sticker still on the bottle $13.95. Damn, I shoulda bought more back then. Who knew prices would increase so much?!
Decanted. Initial impression, quite dark, still somewhat opaque. Closed nose. Seemed a bit hot. Good plummy fruit, still some tannins. Good length but finish was alcoholic. With time, the fruit has come to the front. Not a heavyweight but good balance. Still a bit of bitterness on the finish. Nice but still young. I'll wait a few more years for the rest of my bottles.

One of my wife's and my favorite ports from our anniversary year, We have had many a bottle , much of it purchased from such places as The Rare Wine Co. fir around $25 in the mid-90's. I have always found it outstanding , 92 + points. CT shows we have 11 bottles left and that the CT average rating is 92+. CT also shows a 2018 drinking window. I think it will go much longer.
