As he is turning 37, how about a great 1937 Colheita? I know he has at least a Noval from that vintage. : )
Your suggestions would be appreciated!

Re: What Port should Andy open for his birthday today?
Thanks Roy. I won't have but a few hours after I get home from work to decant, so thinking more like a colheita or tawny but you never know. Here's some options to help me decide. Oh and I need help with a Douro or two as well.
PORT:
1977 Kopke Colheita
40 Year old Kopke
30 Year Old S. Leonardo Tawny
1963 Offley Boa Vista VP
1994 Quevedo Colheita
1970 Niepoort VP
1963 Cockburn's VP
1970 Fonseca VP
DOURO:
2004 Quinta do Crasto Vinha da Ponte
2001 Niepoort Batuta
2003 Niepoort Redoma
2007 Quinta do Vesuvio Douro
1991 Ridge Santa Cruz mountain Cabernet

I'd open the S. Leonardo 30 if I were you. Happy birthday!

I'm liking the Ridge and the 40 year Kopke. Happy Birthday. If you're rushed. There will be times for the others and a birthday is just a day in the scheme of life.
I have an '83 Dow and '80 Sandeman in queue for tonight.

I have no opinion on what to drink--they all look great--but just want to wish you a Happy Birthday!

First, happy birthday Andy!
If you don't have much time to enjoy a VP, my vote goes for São Leonardo 30y - in one word: brilliant; As for the Douro, I would go for Batuta 2001 as the others are probably too young.
Once again, happy birthday my friend, today I'll drink Port to your health.

Happy birthday!
I'd open the Cockburn 63. These need drinking sooner rather than later and most other things will last a while longer.
And for the wine, I vote for you to open the Vesuvio since it comes from Vesuvio.

Thank you all for the b-day wishes .
It was a wonderful birthday spent with several long-time friends. Since the 30 Year Old S. Leonardo was the most recommended I took that and it showed perfectly. I also opened a 1973 Inglenook Cabernet Sauvignon, since it was the only birth year wine I had. I was amazed at how youthful and tannic it still was and it too showed nicely. I did make a slight alteration with a Douro wine, as I forgot to list this one earlier and since Fred said it's drinking well at the moment, I chose a 2000 Chryseia Douro. It too drank marvelously and everyone loved the wines and Port, not a drop of any was left. I'll try and post some TN's later tonight on them, as I now must drive a few hours toward Las Vegas to run a 5.5 mile uphill leg of a 120 mile relay run for work.
