1991 Delaforce Quinta da Corte Vintage Port

Post by Mark D »

Opened 11/18/09

Dark ruby colour with a little brown showing; red holding to the rim.

Pungent leathery nose, plums, prunes and a little rubber, sweaty. Tasting, the fruit is light, the acidity and sweetness more prominent, with the sweetness a little clingy on the finish. Hot. Tannins smooth and most noticable at the finish. Acidity lasts, and makes it rather moreish, if a little overpowering!

Finished it off.

Nose much smoother, fruit coming through.

Smoothing out very well in the mouth - again fruit coming through, and a hint of mint. Sweetness and acidity better integrated, tannins still there on the finish but fading a little. A touch more heat, but this is good port.
