Ambition driven by passion, rather than money, is as strong an elixir as is Port. http://www.fortheloveofport.com

Acker's was hucking some Pomeral (I forget which one) for under $30 that sounded awesome. I plan to buy something, but I want large format, maybe 3000 ML.

Why, next year will be yet another Vintage of the Century, so why bother. [berserker.gif]

And don't even get me started on the "*" thing...what the h*** is Parker thinking? [dash1.gif] [dash1.gif] [dash1.gif]

From the uneducated reader, what are recent good vintages of Bordeaux? I will probably fill out a case from one merchant with a few non-Port bottles, and I just received an e-mail from them with a bunch of 2006 listed. Any good? I'll try to read up on 2009, but that's a non-player for filling out a case now since all the 2009s are pre-arrival.

I haven't tasted enough to state from personal authority, but this is the link to a useful matrix showing RP, Jancis, Wine Spectator and Decanter scores for 2004 - 2009 Bordeaux wines.

Haven't bought Bordeaux since the 90 vintage, and Cali Cab since the early part of this decade. Guess I'm sort of tried of Cabernet based wines.
