Re: Les Habs ...
Are you kidding, the Canuck's uniform has not become any more stylish since then. But who cares what they look like? Go Canucks!
I began my hockey love in the 1970s, as a NY Islander fan during their lousy years and then when they became the best team in the league in the middle to end of the decade. Definitely the most talented hockey team I've ever seen, man for man. There were no weak links up and down the bench.

Re: Les Habs ...
Roy ,
I have a soft spot for Butch Goring .
A leader in the dressing room , a great penalty killer , a pretty good scorer .
His only down fall , he was a lousy dresser .
If you remember that funny helmet he had , It's the same helmet he was given when he was 12 yrs old
But the real reason for the soft spot , he was born in St.Boniface , Manitoba which just so happens to be the birthplace of yours truly .

Oh no, not Manitoba.
Well so far, the Canucks are doing well in this semifinal series! Liking this a lot.

Whadda ya mean !!
We've got the Red River flooding every year , the Winnipeg Blue Bombers , the Manitoba Moose , extremely cold winters ,
we can see the Northern Lights , one french radio station , Folklorama and of course Polar bears
The downside : not a drop of Port
Luongo ( look what Halak is doing for the Habs )

Roy ,
It's the same story : You dont harm the goose that laid the golden egg
They never did it to Lafleur nor Béliveau nor Lemieux nor the great one .
The last time the NHL screwed up , the '' Rocket " missed the playoffs .

I much rather see the Bruins (should they move on) play the Habs than the Penguins.

Re: Les Habs ...
The Habs vs The Bruins , brings back memory's .
2 in particular : '71 playoffs ( was 9 at the time )
The Bruins were a powerhouse , but late in the season , the Habs who were having problems , called up goalie ( Dryden was his name , ring a bell
We beat the big bad bruins in 7 .
And of course , who can forget the '79 playoffs .
Lafleur scoring the tying goal late in the 3rd ( I can still remember Cherry behind the bench , a classic moment )![NotWorthy [notworthy.gif]](./images/smilies/notworthy.gif)
And then Lambert scoring in O.T.

Re: Les Habs ...
Once again , les Habitants are going to game seven .
Mike Cammaleri has 10 goals .
The last time a Canadian had 10 goals in the playoffs was 1993 .
Significance ? The Habs won the Stanley Cup that year![See Ya [bye2.gif]](./images/smilies/bye2.gif)

Re: Les Habs ...
But like my team this season, the Vancouver Canucks ... The Montreal players are going to be watching the Stanley Cup on TV. So, I guess there was no "significance."
Flyers vs. Blackhawks ...
