As here in Canada the chance to buy old Madeira is not something happening offently, I don't want to miss the occasions, if they are good.
Anyone tasted this one, worth buying?
Any comments are welcome.

Darn it. I was going to post my tasting note from Jan. 7th where I thought I opened up a bottle of this ... but I opened a D'Oliveira 1968 Bual and not Barbeito. Sorry Fred.
The D'Oliveira is usually my preference to Barbeito but that is a generalization that is not ALWAYS true. The Dolly sells for $95 today. I am not sure about the Barbeito without looking it up but you can do the winesearcher thing too.
Let us know if you do buy 'em.

Roy, I was asking for Blandy's 1968... I think I'll buy it, Braodbent always talk in good of these products. I'm not sure I'll have though. In Ontario they have a catalog of Conoisseur wines called "Classics". You order what you want and if a product has more demdands than quantity, they do a lottery to determine who have some.

I had a small taste of it recently. I thought it very fine and were the price right would buy a couple. Classic fantastic VA and acidity, moderate in sweetness as Boal should be - though it wasn't a wine that made me say wow, it was just what a Boal ought to be. Just one note of warning: it was drunk at the end of a long dinner and my critical faculties weren't at their best
