June 12 Los Angeles area Port Offline

Post by Andy Velebil »

Marc J. and I have been talking and came up with June 12 (Saturday) as the date for the next Offline at my house. We haven't got a start time yet, but probably a mid-late afternoon start until we run out of Port or..... :winebath:

No ideas on food yet, but we can do a pot luck, order some food from a nearby restaurant, hit the taco truck around the corner for some really good authentic Mexican food from the "roach-coach", or whatever. Just let us know what you'd like to do in that regard.

THEME:
Marc came up with a great idea on a theme.....doing a "Never had that!" tasting that would feature Ports that you typically don't see too often So dig out those "old and Odd" Vintage Ports, Single Quinta Vintage Ports, LBV's, Colheita's, and Tawny's and lets have a good time.

DATE:
June 12, 2010 (time still to be determined)

LOCATION:

Andy Velebil's house in Los Angeles. Email or PM me for the address (use the little icons on the right under my name or andy@fortheloveofport.com)

So come on folks sign up and lets have a good time!

If I was not leaving for Spain a couple of days later, I'd fly down for this. Sounds like a ton of fun. I think Heather and her boyfriend Scott and Steve Pollack mentioned they were planning to come join you for the tasting and one other person too. Have a great time!

No, that is a different one and is still planned for late June (see below). I'll probably have an email out in the next couple weeks on that one.

Too bad you can't make it...guess I shouldn't mention the Ridge Jimsomare Vineyard vertical going back to a 1968 Zin we're doing next week that I'm organizing. As for the port tasting at the end of June, as I mentioned that is another one and will be with a Port producer that will most likely be either June 29th or 30th....more details to come soon I promise.
