I picked up 6 of those too... I sense an LBV tasting in the works. '03 Quevedo, '03 Noval, and '03 Taylor seems like a good start!

I was more worried about Oscar's Wine though, because that's a ridiculously low price and there was only so much available! I figured there was a decent chance that the East Coast FTLOP contingent would buy it all before I even woke up this morning. Luckily that was not the case! [yahoo.gif]

Wait, how do I place an order. I thought we were going to get an email with instructions or something?

Yep Glenn, I did send in my order early this morning via email. Am quite excited, as this is the first case I have ever purchased. It is somewhat disappointing that it won't be shipped until late October, at least for my order. Even though the weather here is dismal and not at all summer-like, apparently most points in between are too warm to consider shipping it now. I am glad for the option to hold the shipment, but sad to have to wait for my bottles. Port would be nice for these gloomy, gray afternoons before summer comes. (Assuming it still is coming....) Maybe come October, when they are ready to ship, they'll honor the same or similar prices if we want to add on to our order? Not saying this is the case, but it is a good opportunity for them to make additional sales. [beg.gif]

You're assuming there will be some left after this week....Highly unlikely, so get your orders in now. These prices are just plane silly cheap so no reason not to buy.

There are additional shipments coming to them, but who knows if they can honor those prices?

Order in. Another bonus is that the facility is 10 min from my house so what would have been shipping charges have been poured into more juice instead.

I'm really surprised that there's any of Oscar's Wine left... I know how much was available and I was really worried that it would all be gone before I woke up on Monday.

The LBV vanishing quickly doesn't surprise me - it's an awesome LBV and that's a ridiculously low price. I can't even find basic rubies around here for that!

Yep--I was looking for 3 bottles of the LBV and ended up getting the last 2 they had.

I had to suffer through buying one more of the Colheita as a result.

Quick comments:

FIrst of all, I am thrilled you are all able to get the Quevedo wines after quite a bit of effort to make this all come together.

Having to wait out the summer weather is not so bad as by the time the cool weather comes you will be happy to get the delivery.

The original cases of LBV never made it on the delivery so more was shipped last second which delayed everything.

The Oscar's Douro wine quantity was doubled from what Glenn thought was the allocation. We added a bunch with the LBVs that arrived last Friday, just in the nick of time.

I am sorry for anyone that missed out on the buying opportunity or did not get their orders in early, causing some of the wines to sell out. I did my best to forecast quantities of what would be purchased, based on previous offerings.

Subscribers, as described in the newsletter, this was a one week offering. When Flickinger's receives subsequent shipments of more of these wines ... the prices will revert to the "everyday" pricing for EVERYONE. This was a "wines til sold out" deal and I have no control beyond limiting the Oscar's Douro wine to 1 case per subscriber. Beyond that, everyone had the same opPORTunity.

Thanks for the comments. I hope those that participated will enjoy the wines ... in fact, I know you will. [friends.gif]
