Baseball Trivia

When was the last time a single baseball team had three pitchers with 10 wins before the All-Star break? (not including this year)

Actually, 3 of the Yankees starters have 11 wins now: CC Sabathia, Andy Pettitte and as of last night, Phil Hughes. The Yankees had not achieved this feat since 1955.

For the record books ... the 1999 Houston Astros (Jose Lima, Shane Reynolds and Mike Hampton) were the last team to have three starters with 10 or more wins prior to the All-Star break ... they also had 11 apiece.

That's a great question. I had no chance at the right answer, that was just a wild guess. If Lackey wins today, (a big if, being down 7-5 in the 5th now), the Red Sox will also have three 10 game winners before the break.
