Re: Do you enjoy country music?
I used to, before it turned into a subgenre of rock.
I still like "classic" country, and old bluegrass and finger-pickin' (Doc Watson, Chet Atkins and the like).
I prefer stringbands over electric guitars and drums. Electric guitars and drums over heavily amped guitars and amped drums.
Of course, if you play it backwards, your dog gets better, your truck gets fixed, and your wife/girl comes back.
To quote "You Never Even Call Me By My Name" (David Allen Coe or Steve Goodman)
WELL, I WAS DRUNK THE DAY MY MOM GOT OUT OF PRISON
AND I WENT TO PICK HER UP IN THE RAIN
BUT BEFORE I COULD GET TO THE STATION IN MY PICKUP TRUCK
SHE GOT RUNNED OVER BY A DAMNED OLD TRAIN
A friend of mine, Steve Newhouse, does a great cover of this song.

Kind of like Pete, I enjoy just the very old stuff, but even that only in small doses...

Re: Do you enjoy country music?
I enjoy just about any kind of music, provided it is quality for the genre. So yes, I enjoy a little country now and then.
I don't even mind the new "Pop Country" stuff, but like Pete I like the old school style better.

I go through phases where it appeals to me and I'll listen to it on the radio, and then one day I just don't care for it anymore. Sometimes years go by before I listen to it again.
Blessed are we who can laugh at ourselves, for we shall never cease to be amused.

No. Although some Willie is tolerable and Johnny Cash is in a league by himself and worth listening to. I suspect there are a few other classic artists I might find worthwhile.
