Yeah, it just worked out that way. I don't know why, but I came across quite a few 1980s at a good price (as well as a number of other items) so I pulled the trigger. The last '62 that I opened was a Malvedos so I'm interested to see how the Sandeman compares to it.

6 bottles Vesuvio 2008
6 bottles Noval 2008

Still got to order 6 Quevedo 2008 and then that will be my 2008 ports purchased. I was surprised when I modeled how my cellar would age over the next 30 years as I drink it to find that I still need to buy between 6 and 30 bottles a year until the mid 2030s. So when 2010 is declared, I'll be in there for a couple of cases :salute:

Oh yes, and a case of Cockburn 1955. Yumm. That's that gap filled in the cellar now. '63s next.

Farr Vintners in the UK. However it's all sold out now. They brought in several cases from select vintages: 1977, 1985, 1991, and 1994.

2 x 2003 Taylor LBV from Trader Joe's for $20 each. A decent but not spectacular price for a great LBV.

They also had the 2004 Quarles Harris LBV for $13, the Quarles Harris 10-year old Tawny for $13, and the 2007 Quarles Harris Vintage Port for $40 but I didn't pick up any of those. If you really want cheap, they had Porto Morgado Tawny and Ruby (basic, not reserve) for $7/bottle.

Why no QH 2004 LBV Glenn? We need a report on that one.

I tried to buy some 1977 Warre's (my wife loves this one) at auction today but didn't win. So I consoled myself by buying 3 each 2000 and 2003 Sandeman VP along with some amarone, Argentine malbecs, and some whites to fill out a case.

I would not sneeze at the 2004 Quarles Harris LBV. I have had it, and it is a seriously good defender for the money. Even better on Day 2.

I have limited storage space at this point and have been having difficulty finding the 2003 Taylor so I wanted to get those while I had the chance. Hopefully Trade Joe's will still have the '04 QH when we get back from the Harvest Tour!

I'll tell you that the 2003 Taylor has become very expensive in the UK (Due to the Parker 100 point mention). Farr Vintners was selling it for approx. $1100 / case and it sells very quickly at that price. In the US a few month ago I saw a case sell at auction for $650.
