"200-year-old shipwreck" and "the branding of the corks ... featured a comet, added to pay tribute to one that crossed the skies of Champagne in 1811" doesn't seem consistent to me. Poor reporting methinks.

I thought having 1914 and 1921 Pol Roger was a great Champagne experience, but wow ... that is something!

Only a little. From what I've read, they're not 100% certain how old the shipwreck is, and so of course can't be certain how old the Champagne is either. Besides... 199 years old is pretty close to 200 years old.
