Niepoort 2001 Redoma Branco. 13% alcohol. Tasted non-blind, and not decanted.

Rather mature: a rich golden colour. Powerful nose, showing well-integrated new oak and fresh peach. Full bodied, rich and creamy. Fresh stone fruits and pipe tobacco, yet remaining crisp and fresh. Long finish, again quite fresh with lovely mineral flavours. For my taste: peak drinking. 90 points.

I did taste this wine a few months ago and I think I forgot to post my tasting notes. From what I remember, I really liked its freshness and the creamy palate this wine was providing. It is really showing that these wines can age very well. The 2000 tasted at Passadouro this fall was very similar, though a bit less complex.
