I bought last Saturday 3 bottles (0.75l) of Dalva Golden White Port 1952 (bottled in 2008 - USD 130.-- inkl a 15% discount) in Switzerland and also a Dalva 40 year old port (0.375l - USD 51). The crazy thing is that I bought before 1 bottle (0.50) of Dalva Golden White 1952 (bottled in 2009) in Portugal for EUR 149.-- :( !!
In addition I bought 2 bottles of Taylor's Vintage Port 2000 for USD 85.-- (in Portugal i paid EUR 93.-- for the same bottle :-( ) , 2 bottles of Dow's Vintage Port 2007 USD 103.--, a Niepoort Colheita 1934 for USD 170 at an auction and 3 bottles of Barros Colheita 1969 USD 40.--/bottle (also bought at an auction but not a terrific vintage).

Welcome Sener. Did you leave any bottles of that Dalva? I've been thinking about buying some of those Swiss bottles for over a year, and made arrangements with a friend in Switzerland to receive them, but was waiting to complete my income taxes this year to see if I had any money left to buy some. I can't fault you for grabbing them, and I hope you enjoy them. [cheers.gif]

Yesterday I bought two bottles of Niepoort Polder LBV 2005 for € 15,00 each. I guess these are made especially for the Dutch market. Has anyone tried these yet?

I saw the Niepoort Polderport also at the local supermarket (A.H.). It seems that only that particular supermarket is selling it. Why? I don't know.
I don't think it is a traditional LBV, do you? Please let us know how it's drinking when you've tastet it.

At auction, last sunday I won (via earlier posted online bids):

5x Dalva 1977 Vintage port (at Eur0 188 incl buyers premium)
7X Fonseca 2000 Vintage port (at Euro 329 incl buyers premium)
I'm happy [yahoo.gif]

Too bad I (just) missed out on some other lots (a 1966 Taylors VP, a 1948 Burmester VP and a 1957 Kopke Colheita), but that's the risk of laying in the bids beforehand. On the other hand, it also prevents me bidding too much during auction in all the excitement.

3x Fonseca 20 yr @ 52 (tested tonight and really liked it)
1x Cockburn 20 yr @ 53
2x Q d Portal 20 yr @ 60 (also enjoyed a bit of this tonight)
2x Sandeman 20 yr @ 50

All for Gang of Port (leave in bar for anyone who knows the secret)

Mike got about as many, but I don't know what he ordered.
We tried to get some Burmester 20 yr, but between my authorization and the order it was all gone.
Ferreira was too expensive this month, so we gave it a rest.

I have plenty of the Ferreira DdB (20 yr) (30 btls @ about $52 avg) at home, since I got confused (it was buried under other wine cases) about how much I had at home and kept ordering more.

(One of these days Paesanos and SE Michigan are going to be recognized as a serious port market! I bet I've ordered 30 cases of port through them in the past few years. At one time Detroit and SE Mich was the tequila-buying capital of the US, but then I switched to wine.)

12 bottles of Burmester VP 2007 at € 27,00. Maybe not a port for the ages, but enjoyable in the coming years.
