12 x Croft 1970
6 x Noval 1966

both of these were missing from my cellar so it's nice to have acquired a few bottles of these for drinking over the next decade or two.

Did some major shopping this week...

6 Quinta do Vesuvio 1996 (€37,50)
3 Fonseca guimaraens 1987 (€30)
3 Fonseca Guimaraens 1995 (€23)
6 Graham Malvedos 1986 (€30)
6 Graham Malvedos 1987 (€33)

Than I got the opportunity to exchange 25 bt of my Bordeaux wines with some VP:

3 magnum Fonseca 2000
3 Taylor Vargellas Vinha Velha 2000
6 Dow 2000
3 Graham 1985

I bought the Bordeaux wines some years ago for about €600, so I think I made a "steal of a deal"...

A bottle of Graham's Six Grapes that was bottled at least 10 years ago. Paid a bit too much for it, but I wanted to see what an older aged bottle of this was like.

Let me know when you plan to open this one - I have a handful and would love to know what they're like! I haven't yet figured out how to work them into my yearly schedule so it may be a couple of years before I open one.

According to Derek, you must drink it within a week of your birth date to live forever [cheers.gif]

but I figured you'd be interested in this one. I'll do my best to hold it so one day we can crack a few Ports from this year side-by-side 8--)

I think you're right about that steal of a deal! Congrats! [cheers.gif]
If I may ask, where do you usually buy your (Vintage) Ports? The prices of your 'shopping streek' seem quite allright and well priced as well.

Hi Gerwin,

In recent years I bought a lot at f.i. Ton Overmars, Sauter, Saint-Vincent (Bruinisse) or Collin (Gent). As the best deals are gone by now, I sometimes surf the net and look at "Marktplaats" now and then. The VP I bought last week were from two different sellers on Marktplaats, the ones I bought came out of an inheritance, the other which I tradet came from seller "GrandCru1855".
I also understood that Saint-Vincent is going to put his remaining VP up for auktion in Gent (Belgium), I don't now when, but I'm happy to inform you as soon a I know.

Regards, Monique.

Hi Monique,
Thanks for the quick reply! I would be very appreciative if you would let me know when the St Vincent auction will take place. I've bought some VP's there once (I also buy at Ton Overmars :D , I usually use him as a bechmark. I also buy quite some VP's at auction (Winefields, and a couple of weeks ago at Sylvies in Antwerp).
Dielen in Venlo also has a very large selection of VP's, but usually they are quite expensive (except with Dow Bomfim 1992, which is/was nicely priced).
Best regards,
Gerwin

I bought a magnum of 2007 Taylor the other day. It looks like the NH state store has most port on sale. I could have spent a lot more as they had 03 & 04 Quinta da Noval for good prices.
