Tasting History - INVITATION

The Blandys have been involved in the development of Madeira wine since 1811. 2 centuries of fine wine production.

To celebrate their bicentenerary and to share part of their history, Blandy's will host a series of tasting events which will include many old and rare vintage madeiras.

Dates/Locations:

a. San Francisco - March 22nd @ The Monaco Hotel

b. NYC - March 24th @ The Cooper Square Hotel

c. London - June 9th @ Andaz Liverpool Street Hotel

d. Madeira - September 23rd @ The Blandy's Wine Lodge

Thanks for the "head's up", Roy.

I tried looking into the NYC event. I called the hotel, but they didn't have any info (what wines are poured, cost, etc). They only knew there was an invitation-only lunch at noon and a reception at 2:00pm. They mentioned I should contact Blandy's.

I tried going to the Blandys web site but it seems to be under repair.

Any other ideas on who to contact?

I heard back today, that these tastings are solely for the trade (which I was unaware of) and I apologize for mis-leading folks here.

He, he, us on this excellent forum should be in "the trade" . All together we may have a very large stock of old Blandy's wines, maybe more than Blandy's ..
