Lots of Port in London
Finally returned late last night from a spectacular visit with friends in London where some amazing wines and Ports were consumed. I'll get to a write up later, but just a few highlights were a 1945 Croft VP, 1970 Royal Oporto Quinta do Carvalhas VP, 2006 Niepoort Charme, 2004 Quinta do Crasto Vinha da Ponte, and a 1933 to 2005 Fonseca and Fonseca-Guimaraens VP Horizontal with Adrian Bridge that was completely amazing. Of course there were MANY more bottles that were excellent as well. I can't thank everyone enough for a great way to enjoy a mini-vacation.

Re: Lots of Port in London
I left home at 11am on Friday to head south in preparation for Andy's arrival in the UK and basically haven't stopped drinking fantastic Port from then until this evening. Since Friday I have attended 5 port tastings and The Big Fortified Tasting in London and have probably tasted (or is that drunk?)around 150 different Ports, a few Madeiras and countless refreshing beers.
I'm exhausted. Time to go home for some sleep
Thanks for coming over, Andy, it was great to see you again. Please do not return for at least 6 months as it takes that long for a replacement liver to integrate itself into the system

Sounds like a great time was had by all!

Ambition driven by passion, rather than money, is as strong an elixir as is Port. http://www.fortheloveofport.com
