MIDNIGHT in PARIS
MIDNIGHT IN PARIS, is one of the top three Woody Allen films I've ever seen. Manhattan and Sleeper are the other two. Without question this will earn a nod for Best Picture, and at least through the 1st 1/2 of 2011 nothing else has come close to besting MIP. The ensemble cast and time travel is brilliantly constructed, Allen's depiction of Paris in three "time zones", unequaled in film. Romantics and history buffs with an artistic bent, will appreciate this more than others, recognizing the characterizations along the way. Any flick that can provoke me to like Owen Wilson and simultaneously hate Rachel McAdams, deserves major kudos. A very solid A.
