Drink my beer!

Post by Eric Menchen »

If you're in northern Colorado in the next month(?), stop by the tasting room of the Odell Brewing Company in Ft. Collins and ask for a glass of the Friek. This is a blend of the Kriek I brewed with Doug Odell two years ago on their five barrel pilot system and another batch they brewed this year, with a dash of raspberries for good measure. If you don't know, Kriek is traditionally a sour Lambic ale made with cherries, a very atypical beer. If you do try it, let me know what you think.

The last batch is gone, but a new batch (that won the medal) is going to be released at the end of this month.

Thank you both.

The beer probably won't make it very far out of Colorado--sorry. I figure when I do manage to make it on a Harvest Tour some day that I will take one of those travel carriers of bottles, filled with beer when I depart and Port when I return. Maybe we can share some that way, or in conjunction with some other tasting event. I think Andy had some of the Friek when I was out in LA last time.
