At auction this weekend I won two lots (I made a bid on 4 lots, online beforehand).
I missed out (don't know the winning bid yet) on a lot with 4 Dow's VP 1980 and the lot that I believe Ronald Wortel did win (6x Niepoort 1977 and 2x Calem 1977) (although my bid on the latter was very low, so I'm quite sure I didn't drive the price up too much for Ronnie).

I've won:
1x 1937 Porto Demi Sec 1 Bottle(s) Porto, Pinto (very curious to see what this actually is!!)
2x 1970 Vintage Borges et Irmao
1x 1970 Vintage Quinta do Noval
2x 1977 Vintage da Silvas
1x 1977 Vintage Quarles Harris
1x 1978 Vintage Niepoort
1x 1980 Vintage Dows
1x 1984 Vintage Warre’s, Quinta da Cavadinha
1x 1991 Vintage Quinta do Noval
1x 1992 Vintage Burmester, Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo
4x 1994 Vintage Dow's

Me happy ! [yahoo.gif] [cheers.gif]

I see we were also bidding against each other for the mixed lot with the 1994 Dow's in it. I ended up with 18x Niepoort 77 and 2x Calem 77. That's a lot of Niepoort! But the average price worked out really well, so I am very happy. 8--)

1952 Dalva Golden White. With delivery to a friend in Europe I'm not sure when I'll get it, but possibly this year.

Maybe next time (Oct. 22nd I think) we should give each other heads up on the lots that we're interested in (to avoid bidding against each other or, if such should occur, bid together on specific lots).

I just picked up some bottles of Dow's LBV 2004 at the local Sam's Club. They have them for a little under $16 a bottle, which is a QPR in anyone's book.

A single bottle of Croft 1991 - based on the recommendations from people on this board that this is one of the best of the wines from this vintage.

Wow, nice prices! I wish I could find prices like those on 1994s. My Dows were $80 and my Grahams were $75 and I thought those were pretty good deals when I got them!

A few bottles of 1985 Warre's VP for C$37. The labels are a bit shopworn but at this price it's not a worry.
