Zweifel Weine? I bought a bottle from them a month or so ago. Either they reduced the price a little, or exchanges rates vs. the US$ are a little more favorable now. Or maybe the difference is tax and shipping ... guess I should look at my bill.Sener O wrote:8 x Dalva Golden White 1952 (0.5l) for 156 usd/bottle

Philip,
What is the name of the brand of Port you purchased? Let us know so we can be of more help.
In Portugal, my purchases were light:
A half dozen bottles of 1967 Dalva Colheita
40 year old JH Andresen
40 year old - that cannot be mentioned
I had to drink up the two bottles of Villar d'Allen 20 year old Tawny Port before leaving, so that I could carry back a couple of bottles of 2009 Vintage Ports in my suitcase.

Was picking up some daily drinkers and saw the Quarles Harris 2005 LBV @ Trader Joe's for $14.99 and had to grab a bottle for the sake of a TN.

Heard that it was difficult to obtain, or perhaps sold out, but managed to get 3 half-bottles of 2003 Portal VP.

1987 Churchill VP, not because I think it will be great, but because I graduated from Churchill High School in 1987. If it is great, all the better.
Re: What Port(s) have you purchased this week?
A bottle of Quinta do Tedo Savedra 2007 VP - what a monster that is!
Re: What Port(s) have you purchased this week?
If this is the "Agua Alta", I know that Tom Archer rates it very well...I'm also keen to try it at some point as their 1985 remains my absolute QPR favourite VP. I must re-try the 91 as well after Roy's recent assessment - makes me think the bottle i tried was from imperfect stock.Eric Menchen wrote:1987 Churchill VP, not because I think it will be great, but because I graduated from Churchill High School in 1987. Have you purchased the 1967 Dalva Colheita by Rui Paula or was it the regular Dalva Colheita 1967? How do they differ from each other? The Dalva Colheita 1967 is being sold for USD 128.-- in Switzerland. What do you think about the price?

My mistake. This is a Crusted Port, not a VP. I knew that when I bought it, but forgot about it when I posted.Rob C. wrote:If this is the "Agua Alta" ...Eric Menchen wrote:1987 Churchill VP ...

Rui Paula is only available in Portugal and is different than their regular 1967 Colheita.

Re: What Port(s) have you purchased this week?
Last weekend at auction (put in bids beforehand) I won:
- 6x Smith Woodhouse VP 1980 (case of 12 split with a FTLOP member);
- 6x Ferreira 1985 VP;
- 9x Kopke 40 YO Tawny (bottled in 1980, very curious how they will turn out);
- 3x Kopke "Full Rich" Madeira.
price on the lot with the Kopke 40 YO and Madeira was very low, so if 2 of 3 of the 9 bottles of Tawny turn out ok, I'm still very happy with that lot.
Anyone have any experiences with aged Tawnies that have been bottled that long ago? I received a high res. photo of the lot and on that they showed excellent condition (which doesn't mean that the contents is still good of course).
