Noval Vintage Nacional Sales at Oporto!

Post by Gustavo Devesas »

Hello everybody!
Yesterday I had a wine journalist here at my place and he has told me the tip of the century.
There's small Quinta do Noval shop across the river at V. N Gaia where all the cellars are, wich is selling of course all the Noval Ports.
Special thing it was when he arrived yesterday with 2 bottles of VP Nacional 1983 and he told me that the price for each it's 120€ ONLY.
He bought 2 bottles yesterday and today he came back with one more from 83 and another from 1978 for 135 €.
It's interesting because I ran to see my pricelist for Noval as a retailer and my table price was 147.57 + 21% of tax for the 83 VP Nacional.
I'm specially happy because it's my year of birth and tomorrow I will go there to buy 2!!!!
Eeheheh!
My mini personal cellar at my bedroom it will finally meet the royal family!!!!

:P :P :P

Gustavo,

I visited the Noval shop in 2005 and noted down all of their prices. I then compared them all with the lowest price I could find for each wine on http://www.wine-searcher.com and almost all of them were lower prices in the shop than I could find from other retailers across the world. Well done to Noval 8)

I only wish every other shipper would follow Noval's lead in having good prices in VNG shops to encourage more people to buy good quality port.

Shhht Keep that secret :) I want to buy more too when I'll get back there. The prices are also not inflating, they are the same then the one I had 2 years ago.
