Hello Friends,
One of my friends will be visting Madeira - but just for one day (as part of a cruise, if I'm not mistaken). So he asked me what would be the best thing to do if you have only a few hours available. He loves wine in general, so it would make sense for him to visit any location that might be open for tourists. If he would go to Porto, it would be easy for me to put the perfect program together (Graham's Lodge, then Taylor's Lodge with a nice lunch at their fantastic restaurant, a quiet afternoon with visits to Sandeman, Dalva, Ramos Pinto or Ferreira, then a dinner at the Yeatman, followed by a few glasses of 40+ year old tawnies at Vinologia). However, I have absolutely no idea about Madeira... What are the "must-do-things" over there? Thanks for your help!!!!
What to do in Madeira if you have only one day?

Assuming he'd be in Funchal.
I'd visit D'Oliveiras and next door is Artur Barros. Have a nice long seafood lunch. If there's still time, go to Borges. Henriques&Henriques and Justinos are both out of town, on opposite sides. If there were more than a single day, I'd also visit the Faja dos Padres.

Thanks, Eric! I will let my friend know. I was never in Madeira - but it is for sure on my to-do-list! It must be a fascinating place...
