Kopke colheita 1979 and kopke colheita 1994.
The 94 is superb for it's age, if they keep some in barrels for another 40 or 50 years i can't imagine how good it can turn up to be

Quinta do Portal 1999 - very pleased with this bottle, and it only cost €16.49 at Continente (probably the largest Portuguese supermarket).
Re: What have you opened this week?
David T. I love the 1999 Portal. Great juice and one of the finest bargains in Vintage Port anywhere!
This week, I've opened a Quinta do Portal 20 year old Tawny and a 2007 Quinta do Vale Dona Maria LBV so far.

Re: What have you opened this week?
Thanks for the tip Roy - I'll try to clear the Continente shelves of Portal 1999 - my kids, wife and parents in law can all give me a bottle for Christmas!
I passed by Vinologia this morning, and saw a display of Portal 2006 with a prominent quote from a certain Roy Hersh (or possibly a misquote, because it effectively said that the 2006 is the best Portal vintage since 2006, which probably isn't exactly what you said).
Oh, and I didn't open it, but I tried the Taylor's 2009 this morning at the Taylor's Lodge. I found great tannins, but the flavours weren't really revealing themselves to me. I also tried the Taylor's LBV 2005 for the first time, and I didn't find the slightly musty edge that I enjoyed so much in the 2004.

Opened another Graham's 2003 LBV. I liked this quite well. Some is left-over to finish tonight.

The bottle of Tesco 1994 VP that I bought yesterday - I love the 1994s!

Re: What have you opened this week?
Since not much family drinks Port and since I'll be doing some driving, I won't have more than one or two glasses of wine tomorrow. So I decanted a 1990 Quinta do Vesuvio VP for later tonight...which will have to wait a little longer tonight since a friend just called and needed an emergency ride to the airport this evening.

Re: What have you opened this week?
The label says "Symington Family Estates" but no clue as to which house. We did once see some Tesco 1995 from Quarles Harris, so it could be the same in 1994.Roy Hersh wrote:Alex,

A magnum of 1977 Quarles Harris VP since I want to compare it to the recent 750ml bottle of this I had.
