I was looking at the wine section in the grocery store to see if they had anything new. I wasn't really planning on buying anything but this bottle jumped into my cart so I was forced to buy it and 1976 is my birth year so I thought it would be fun to taste.
Bottled in 2005. The color is tan/tawny. The nose has caramel, walnuts, and alcohol. The palate showed some oxidation, caramel, nuts and dates. In the mouth, it is round and viscous. Very smooth with no tannin and enough acidity to balance the sweetness. The finish was subtle. Short to medium length. Overall, pleasant but not very complex. 89.

Kris,
You folks in the northwest are fortunate to have such a great colheita selection from Rocha. These are very good tawnies with many different price options to fit any budget.
