1983 Gould Campbell Vintage Port

Post by mwaters »

$74.95cdn 750ml
Decanted approx 6 hours.

Dark inky purple/black color right out of the bottle. I was happily surprised by the color. I found the nose had black licorice and dark fruit. Excellent concentration and a silky mouthfeel. The finish was long with a little heat. 90-93pts (MW)

Yes, this is one of the most extracted and concentrated VPs of the vintage. I would have suggested 10 hours of decanting for this particular bottling ... but then again, you didn't ask.

Thanks for the Tasting Note.

Thanks Roy, it was a great experience for me. By the way, I did ask about decanting time (separate post), you just choose to ignore me!!!! :)

If I taste this again I'll be sure to give it more air. Thanks.

Certainly my favorite of the vintage!
Porto comes from only one place . . . no matter what the label says!
