2004 Croft LBV Port

2004 Croft LBV Port
Decant: 3 hours - Half bottle, bottled unfiltered (but cold stabilized) in 2009. Cherry dominated nose; cherry dominated fruit driven palate. On the light side of medium bodied but with a really nice balance with ripe acidity and soft, chalky tannins. The aftertaste is of good length and dominated by ripe, red cherries. Very tasty and in a lovely drinking window. 88/100. Drunk 27 December 2011 after 3 hours decanting. 88 points

Alex,
Do you recall what producer this was? I was cleaning up the database and it doesn't say which producer.

Could be interesting to leave it open for a while and let people guess... sort of a vicarious blind tasting.Andy Velebil wrote:Alex,

Might be a cool idea for a recurring thread...

Good idea...lets see it's unfiltered but cold stabalized. That gives a little hint. We know it's from 2004 so that helps, maybe. Anyone got a guess?Lamont Huxley wrote:Could be interesting to leave it open for a while and let people guess... sort of a vicarious blind tasting.Andy Velebil wrote:Alex,

Yeah, I was wondering why Mr. B. left off the producer too. Likely just an oversight.

I'd clearly been enjoying life a little too much when I posted this tasting note! I'll let things run a while before confirming who the producer is - but no-one has it right yet.

It was Croft - one of the cellar defenders I mentioned in an earlier post on a different thread. I've changed the title of the thread to reflect the producer.
