I notice our TNDB has 3 notes for this wine, all are listed by Malvasia, which David S. may have set to the default.
I believe this might be new packaging as there is a label on the bottle (actually it is a clear sticker that acts as a label) that mentions the 200 Anos / years. I like this more than I expected, as I've not had this except on the island when visiting the Blandy's Lodge a few times in the past. It is quite good, cost about $35 and shows a good degree of acidity and is much richer than I would have thought. I wonder if the blend has been improved in the past couple of years. This seems more "sophisticated" than what I remember. I look forward to sipping it later when typing up my TN's on the Terrantez tasting, which is why I bought it. Drinking Port is just not the same when typing up Madeira TN's.
Was that in a 750 ml bottle? I've recently had Blandy's 15 year malmsey and sercial, and the Cossart Gordon 15 year bual. All were in 500 ml bottles. Niklas Jorgensen said that Blandy's 20 year terrantez is also coming in 500 ml bottles. I've been wondering if the trend will continue to 10 year old wines.
Good to hear. Wasn't a big fan of the Blandy's (except for Alvada) at that price point. D'Oliveiras and Broadbent has had the market locked for a while.
