A Zachy's auction last week had a bottle. It was estimated at $1,500 - 2,400. It sold for $2662 (which I assume includes the buyer's premium).

THere are two other terrantez in the auction: 1870 Adegas de Torreao ($450-$650) and 1877 Borges ($600-$900). Has anyone had either one?

I wanted that bottle very badly during this auction, and was rather aggressive in my bidding in my opinion, but couldn't keep up in the end. Ultimately, it went for $3000 plus Buyer's premium. I think perhaps I was bidding against someone who read your tasting notes from the Transcendental Terrantez Tasting ("TTT")! Or was I bidding against you, Roy? Haha ;) I know it's rather high up there on your all time list, and it looked like the Madeira of the night for you in that TTT. Incidentally, I had the pleasure of meeting Bob Maliner over dinner and a flight of madeiras (that included a 1795 barbeito) just after the TTT, as well as dinner with Mannie only a few days later over some Sally's Pizza. If only we could meet up over a bottle of this 1802 sometime, it would be a dream come true (awww...)

I remain in dedicated search for this bottle....

Marco, I was certainly bidding against you for it at one point, but some other lucky devil grabbed it from us....
... maybe they'll be willing to share some of it at a later date. (nudge nudge ;) ;) )

I did manage to grab the 1825 Lomelino Boal Solera.

Where in CT are you, Marco? I grew up in the New Haven area and am headed back there next month for a few days. (you can PM if you like instead of responding here)

Cheers,
Mark

All three terrantez bottles sold for above the estimates. The other two terrantez in the auction were:

1870 Adegas de Toreao $800
1877 Borges $1,000

Did anyone here get these?

I bid on the 1820 Freitas Family Reserve and the other two Terrantez but wasn't successful. I did get the H&H Grand Old Boal.

Oh, so that was you, Eric? I was the underbidder on the Grand Old Boal, but I did manage to buy the H & H Malvazia! :D
