I have been to Vista Allegre recently and have tasted most of their wines. You can read a tasting note of their 2003 in the article in our archives.

If you gave me some more specifics, I would be better able to help you. What kind/year of Port of theirs are you talking about?

hi roy,

yeah, i saw the note for 2003 Quinta Valle Longo; i presume that's the one you mean. i have the quinta da vista alegre 2000 vp. now i read the note a bit better i also see that you mention you haven't tasted it yet (at the time of the article anyway).

cheers,

rob.

Yes, sadly the bottle was lost at an airport last July.

Fortunately in October I visited the Quinta itself in order to try the 2003 Vista Alegre. Along with a bunch of other wines from that property, the review will in in the April newsletter.

Hi Rob,

I've tasted the Vista Alegre 2000 VP a couple of times, and it's always a very pleasant port, for short to medium term drinking. There is a TN somewhere in this post.

Rob,

Hopefully by now you have read all about Valegre in the newsletter. I was wondering if you have consumed your own bottle of the 2003 and have been hoping to see a TN from you.

hi,

i haven't touched the vista alegre yet (it's a 2000 vintage btw). my recent port consumptions have been a 2000 nieport lbv and currently i am drinking a kopke 1999 vp. i'll post a note for these if you like.

cheers,

rob.
