Tasted after dinner on a cruise between Sweden and Estonia
on November 16, 2012
It had probably gotten air for some time.
Dark purple colour.
Nose: Deep, dark fruit. No heat.
Palate: Fruit-heavy, nice body. Very dark fruit. At the time I wrote black plums, but maybe its more in the way of black- or blueberry. A fresh sweetness, very tasty. The fruit follows nice acids and those tannins i love all the way to the finish, which is pretty long. The fruit almost seemed to get a bit less dark towards the end, i thoght of strawberrys, but balanced up with a a bit of oak or licorice. No heat anywhere. Delicious.
Reminded me a bit of the 2004 Niepoort Lbv, but thats probably just me :) Tastier fruit and acids though, and smoother tannins.
I later found these as half-bottles in the tax-free shop for 8,37 Euro. Bought six of them.
