Out of curiosity, how do you plan to consume the Nebuchadnezzar bottles? That's a lot of VP to drink quickly once opened...
Not sure - except I don't think it will be part of a vertical or horizontal!
You've also got to persuade customs on your way back over that it is for personal consumption!

Very nice! Can we have a picture of you standing next to them? The Nebuchadnezzars can't be much smaller than you!

That's also going to present some cellar racking challenges...

finally took delivery of

Would you have a go at the 2007 Grahams soon or might it be closed already?

Well done! [cheers.gif] So you were the one driving port prices up at the auction earlier this week! I was hoping to get some of the Dow 1977 magnums, but the prices on those lots went up a little too high for my budget unfortunately.

Not me! - I didn't bid at all on the G70 Tappit hens that went for around 1000 euros each, or the Imperial of G94 that got knocked down for an insane 2200 euros..

The auctioneer mentioned the buyer of the Imperial was from Germany...

In terms of euros per litre, I paid less than a fifth of the price for the V94 Neb than the G94 Imp..

I can't speak about Grahams, but a 2007 Taylor I tried in the last six months was still doing well.

Brilliant haul, congratulations. Those SW77s will last as long as you if you can resist opening them. And I really look forward to hearing what you think of the FG62.

Thanks Al,
I was very happy to pick up the Smith Woodhouse 77s. I don't think I've ever seen them come up at auction before.
It might be a little while before I get to try one of the 62 Fonseca Guimaraens but I'll write up a note when I do.

Won a few bottles of VP at auction yesterday for the NJ Port Club:

Quinta de Roriz 2003
Quinta do Castelinho 1994
Taylor 1992
Graham Malvedos 1986
Sandeman 1985
Taylor 1975

May be a dud or two, but did not spend a lot either, so we're pretty happy.
Any Port in a storm!

3 x 1994 Warre's VP
1 x Quinta do Noval 20 year tawny
1 x Sandeman 20 year tawny

The New Hampshire Wine stores are having 15% off port, sherry, and cognac.

I needed cellar defenders for my madeira.

Taylor LBV 2007 @ $20 (already opened it, very decent for the price!)

and...

1/2 bottle Broadbent's Rainwater Madeira. It comes w a t-stop and I got it so I can store VP when drinking a regular size bottle over a longer period of time (read that suggestion somewhere on the FTLOP forum - thanks guys!)

Figured I'd post this here rather in the Madeira section so as to avoid Barry's wrath over the purpose of my purchase! Am looking fwd to drinking it though :)

1 Dow 1960 -- 750ml
2 Quinta do Noval 1960 -- 750ml
2 Croft 1977 -- 750ml
1 Graham 1970 -- 750ml
1 Fonseca 1970 -- 750ml
1 Feuerheerd's Port 1970 -- 750ml
2 Niepoort Colheita Port 1970 -- 750ml
1 Dow 1970 -- 750ml
I don't know when the colheitas were bottled, and expect it has been a while. I purchased this in one auction lot, and if the colheita is good, that's just a bonus.
