Taylor 1977. A bit more forward than past bottles, but still tasty.

Re: What have you opened this week?
There are two bottlings. The first is amazing because they accidentally put far more old Port (the 1937, I think) into it than planned. The second is still really good, but not close to the first. I believe that I still have 1 bottle of the first bottling left.Eric Menchen wrote:And how was it? I just purchased one of these and am curious.Marc J. wrote:Rocha's 150th Anniversary Tawny Port

Decanted a 2007 Quinta da Romaneira Vintage Port at 8:00 am for my wife's office party tonight. I'm hoping that 10-12 hours will be enough.

It was very good. I've had the Rocha Three Centuries quite a few times and each time I've ben impressed by the level of complexity it always exhibits. This was my first time trying the 150th Anniversary bottling and I must say that seems to be even more complex than the Three Centuries. Layer upon layer of nuts, brown sugar, carmel, toffee and dried fruits all in perfect balance. I think you'll enjoy it...Eric Menchen wrote:And how was it? Re: What have you opened this week?
On Wednesday I opened a really nice and elegant Offley Boa Vista 1963 and this evening a resplendent Taylor 1977.

1985 Smith Woodhouse VP which I had forgotten about and which I found yesterday as I was reorganizing the cellar.
