Last night to celebrate the first time I've been able to hang out with Stewart in over 6 months, a blind tasting of new release samples:

2005 Quinta do Noval LBV
2007 Fonseca LBV - one of the handful of "best ever" LBV's I have had
2007 Taylor LB
Miller Wine Works = Sage Canyon Vineyard, Napa
2002 Dow's Crusted - purchased at local store
2008 Quinta do Noval Vintage Port - loved this
2008 Robert Hall vintage port - Napa

1976 Krohn Colheita - to finish off the tasting with something completely different
Ambition driven by passion, rather than money, is as strong an elixir as is Port. http://www.fortheloveofport.com

Last week as my contribution to our Christmas offline I opened two unknown bottles, identified from their corks to be Croft and Taylor from the vintage of 1927. Both were just fabulous.

Quinta do Noval Tawny (one of the best QPR out there imho - and am lucky enough that the store offering the best price on it in the US is just a mile away)

Nothing for me. I'm stuck in the middle of nowhere North Carolina. Went to local market and the wine section had exactly zero bottles of Port. Nada, nothing, zilch. Was told i could get some white lightening if I wanted to stay warm. Gonna be a long holiday.....
