My birthdate-71-disapointment & after

Post by John Vachon »

Missed a Burgundy tasting(A group I started almost 30 years ago) (SNOW) So I pulled out all the stops.

Had a Bouchard Chevalier-Montrachet 2008(19/20) and a Damoy Le Chambertin 2005(18 1/2/20).

Taylor 1963:

Nose: deep-full-young

Body: full

Taste: deep-young-great

Aftertaste: big time-young

19/20

P.S. my luck a one off-I think the best 63T I've had.

D'Oliveiras reserva boal 1903 btl 2003

Nose: tar-complexity-long

Body: full

Taste: deep-complex

Aftertaste: long-complex

19+/20

P.S. a favorite

It's odd but the port may be the most interesting-Not a 1 off found two more.

Under the lead capsel-"1963 Taylor" was the remains of a wax capsel and no setiment in the bottle after-

decanting?-But a true 1963T-a great one. But decanted??? Cork was better condition than normal. Have found

wax under lead before but rare.
