I may go with Port this year, but may finish off with a Madeira at the end of the evening. What about you?

Very nice, Eric. Love it in fact.

But one is the loneliest number. Nobody else opening a Madeira? Really!?!?!? [dash1.gif]

I will try a Madeira vs. Champage match-up: [shok.gif]

three dry match-ups:

1993 de Venoge Vin de Princes vs. 1969 Miles Sercial

2002 Jean Milan Symphorine Grand Cru vs. 1963 Leacocks Sercial

1995 Moet & Chandon Dom Perignon vs. Blandys 1940 Sercial

and an experimental "sweet" match-up:

Champagne Doyard La LIbertine vs. 1900 Manoel de Sousa Boal

I will post on the MWG next year :winebath:

Happy New Year [cheers.gif]

We opened:
RWC (Barbeito) Porto Moniz Malvasia
1954 Henriques & Henriques Malvasia
Fernandes Madeira Verdelho "More than 40 Years"

Ruth's favorite was the 1954 H&H. While I really enjoyed the H&H, my favorite was the Fernandes Bros Verdelho, as the flavors and acidity were more pronounced.

Sandy,

I am a big fan of that bottling as you know ... one of the reasons why we continue to visit them, but that acidity is too much for some people. I'd love to buy a demijohn of that Verdelho!
