Great idea Roy! I would really love to make the trip and meet some FTLOP'ers for the first time. Don't put me on the list yet, as I have some issues to sort out here, but I'm going to monitor this closely.

(Along similar lines, I had been hoping someone might put together a similar event for a 1963 Vintage Port - 50 Year Restrospective. I'd gladly host it myself, but I doubt we'd be able to find a critical mass of locals to attend.)

I've updated the list.

Tom, I hope you can make it. If you want to start a new thread about a 1963 VP tasting, please do so, but I don't want to confuse this one by discussing two distinct events. [friends.gif]

Like Tom, I'm exploring the possibilities and would like to come, but need not be added to the list yet. I also don't have a lot of 1983 to choose from:
Cockburn
Gould Campbell
Graham
Ramos Pinto
Smith Woodhouse
But there is time before then to look.

I also don't have a lot to choose from:

Cockburn
Dow's -- (I have a lot of this)
Gould Campbell

I am more than happy to source or adopt a bottle. I would like to know somewhat soon so that I can ship it to Roy in advance.

Worse than some who've replied, I have no 1983 at all - we'll definitely be looking for some suggestions on what to acquire & bring.

I've added in "Maybe" for Tom D. and Eric M.

Also for those that have mentioned here or emailed me with specific VP's they'd like to share, I've included those above; but only from guests who have fully committed to attending.

Okay, I am in. I will plan on sourcing 1983 Fonseca and having it shipped to Roy prior to the event.

Depending on flight schedules, I may come into town on the 19th, so if Roy and/or any other locals are avaiable for an informal dinner/offline that night, just give the word!

Looking forward to meeting some of the FTLOP community at long last...

Does the "+++" mean you've got 3 Cockburn back up bottles in the hopes that one is good  [rotfl.gif]

I'm in! If Tom is set on finding a bottle of the Fonseca, I'd be happy to bring an '83 Taylors. If Tom is able to hunt something else down though, I'd prefer to bring the Fonseca, as I wouldn't have to make a (quite long) side trip to fetch the bottle at some point this spring.
