Ramos Pinto Quinta do Bom Retiro 20 years old Tawny. Tried with a bananas Foster trifle but the trifle was much too sweet, so we saved the wine to enjoy by itself afterwards. Even better the second day.

1977 Fonseca. This was a very good bottle. Initially tight as a drum, opened out in the decanter. Rich, velvety, youthful.

`99 Noval LBV. Very nice despite some remarks elsewhere about the quality.

My only bottle of 1955 Dow's VP that was being saved for a very special occasion. This afternoon presented one I'd never have expected, but this was worthy of such, and it has been a beauty this evening. Wish I had more and the local shop here has it for a not bad price (unless you are from the UK and would likely laugh).

I've not heard of this producer. Do you know what else they produce?
