Zero Dark Thirty

Post by Roy Hersh »

Do you have any interest in seeing this film?

Here is a great preview of it, in article form, not video. Spoilers for those that don't know how it ends. :munch: [1974_eating_popcorn.gif]

If the outcome would have meant a restructuring of the SAQ , I most definitely would watch [shok.gif]

We've been planning on seeing it, but the port and wine drinking usually starts to early for us to get to the cinema... :winebath:

Damn. Like the creative license taken in Argo, where the big drama at the airport when the US six were trying to get out of Tehran was all made up for the movie, yes folks it did not actually happen in the real version ... I learned the same today about ZDT. Three high ranking members of Congress from both parties have gone on the record to confirm that torture did not play a key role in the hunt for bin Laden as depicted in the flick.

Can't anyone get these things right, especially when these are historic events. I think Lincoln has a lot less of this type of shenanigans.

Might just be that there is no one still alive to say otherwise!

Yes, torture didn't get useful information. In fact, some useful information came from one person, and then when they started cranking down the screws (figuratively, sort of), he actually started giving misinformation. Congress has investigated and reported on this quite a bit.

What do you expect them to say, "Yes we torture..."? Heck, our current Administration does not like to use the word Terrorist, so no way are they going to acknowledge torture...

We will never know the real full truth, that is a fact.

What is a fact is the world wants their respective governments to keep them safe. What they don't want to know is how it is done.

As the old saying goes, "You can't make an omelet without breaking some eggs."

There are certainly some things, where the old expression: "By any means necessary" ... could be applied. Catching a guy like this, I'm all in!
