I love traditions - but now I have to break with one!
Every year when I'm arriving in Porto in the morning, my first visit leads me to the Graham's lodge... Afterwards I always go to Taylor's, to enjoy lunch at their restaurant...
This year, things will be different... Because now Taylor's lodge will see me only on my second day in Porto!
July 5th, 2013 - Graham's lodge and restaurant!!!!!
I hope that at some point the menu and the wine list will be online - there is nothing better than sitting 7,185 kilometers away from Porto and to plan and dream about the first lunch of the vacation!!!!

Christian,

I will be free on July 5th and maybe we can hook up while you are there. I will be in Portugal from the end of May through the end of the first week in July. It would be great to drink some Port together with you again!

Cynthia replies that they're testing out different wines and will post on the vintage port site once they finalize the menu with what wines they're looking to carry.

As with whimpy half bottles, some of us don't enjoy drinking tannin filled wines of youthful 750+ml bottles. gimme a half bottle anyday I can't decant and prep myself at home. [d_training.gif]

You have to be decanted? That explains a lot. ;)

well massive quantities of liquid typically requires decanting after a few hours ;-)

Hello Roy,
That is fantastic news!
Yes, let's try tyo do something together on July 5th! I arrive at 11:40 am and wanted to go for a late lunch to Graham's... and then of course to Vinologia at the end of the day... and a few other places in between... But everything is flexible. The first day is always fun and confusing in Porto...
It would be great to see you again. :winepour:

I just made my reservation for July 6th at Paparico... if you are still free that night, then please feel free to join us (my kids and a few Portuguese friends). I think that restaurant would be of course the perfect "grande finale" of your Portugal trip!
I'm absolutely jealous that you will spent so much time in Portugal... Just be careful that you don't become a tax-resident in Portugal... :)

Christian, may I join you for lunch at VINUM? I am teaching a course in Braga that weekend and think I could make this [beg.gif]

Hi Daniel, that's marvelous! Yes, let's make a little unofficial Port-Harvest-Tour 2012-Reunion! I come from Madrid, landing at 11:40 at the airport... so I guess I will arrive only around 2:00 at the restaurant... I hope you guys can wait so long...
