TN: 1850 D'Oliveira Verdelho Vintage Madeira
Very, very dark. Rich nose of coffee, nuts and tobacco. Very rich, complex flavors. Sweet for veldelho. Very high acid. 18. $395. (5/1/99). Similar notes. 19 (4/17/00) and 19.5 (10/06). Very, very dark. Initially chocolate, almond skins, a little butterscotch and a little chocolate on nose. After 1-2 hours in glass more spices and oregano emerged. Very sweet dried fruit, Italian spice flavors. Very long finish. 19.5/20. (10/08).
